PRESENT-DAY APULIA. The Cantones gather for a dinner (a not uncommon occurrence in recent Italian cinema!) at which Vincenzo intends handing over the family business to his two sons. Unfortunately, the youngest son, Tommaso, wants to be a writer and has a boyfriend, Marco. The situation seems manageable until Marco and a group of gay friends arrive for a beach weekend. Delightfully cinematic, with the humour veering from the subtle to the outrageous, Loose Cannons has been very well received at viewing sessions and arthouse screenings up and down the country.
